Zero Waste Travel Kit-Kami Basics

Travel is now becoming a part of our life and over tourism is also a hot issue these days. This causes many problems related to the environment. Therefore, it is important to be conscious of the local environment when traveling.

To be a responsible traveller, you absolutely need to reduce as much waste as possible during your trip. You still wonder how to pack your travel kit. Here are some useful tips about zero waste essentials for your trip.

1. Bamboo toothbrush

Staying in a hostel or a hotel, you are possibly offered a plastic toothbrush. It will immediately become waste when you leave. Therefore, bringing your own toothbrush is a good way to reduce waste and bamboo toothbrush is a perfect alternative for you. Bamboo is a fast- growing and renewable grass so it is considered as sustainable material.

2. Homemade toothpaste

Toothpaste tube is made from plastic and totally wasteful. Therefore, you can reduce plastic waste by making DIY toothpaste and then bring it with you during your trip. It seems to take you a certain amount of time but after all, you can use it not only for travel but also for your daily life. So why not?

You still don't know how to do, check the instruction here.

3. Water bottle

During your travel time, you definitely need to drink water or some smoothie and bringing a reusable water bottle is essential for your travel kit. Instead of buying a plastic mineral water, you can easily fill your own water bottle and always bring it with you. Even when you wanna buy coffee or smoothie, you can ask vendor to use yours rather than single- use cup. Really practical and eco-friendly!

4. Handkerchief

Having a handkerchief in your pocket can keep you from using napkin or tissue to wipe your nose.It is also useful when you get sick during the trip. You will definitely appreciate your handkerchief when coughing or sneezing. And people around you too ;)

5. Wooden comb

To tame your well- traveled hair, a comb is indispensable in your travel bag and a wooden one could be a great option. Made from natural material, it has no harm to your hair and the planet as well.

6. Soap Bar

Soap bar which is stored in a cloth bag or paper box could be in your travel toiletry bag as well. This will replace the plastic bottles or small plastic packs.
